Thanksgiving is coming early this year at my house!
You know, I think when you’re having a period of deep loss, you find you can only endure by counting your blessings. And Papa God was kind enough to send a doozy my way this week.
I could not have been more surprised nor heart-pounding grateful to learn that my newest book, Too Blessed to be Stressed for Moms, has been name a Living Now Book Awards gold medal winner. A gold medal! Seriously. Me????
Just. Wow.
I’ve never won a gold medal before. In anything. Not gymnastics (now that’s a BIG LOL). Not tennis (it’s in the Olympics, you know!). Not curling (why is this a sport?). And I never will. Unless they open a category for hair most benefiting from a curling iron. (Sorry diehard curlers out there – no disrespect intended. Well, maybe it was. Please forgive. You can make jokes about me all you want.)
How ’bout them apples? Some nice judges somewhere decided that Too Blessed to be Stressed for Moms should be named as one of this year’s top “Books for Better Living” in the Family/Parenting category.
I’m … well, I’m … I’m honored. And humbled. And screaming my fool head off YYYYYIIIIIPPPPPEEEEE!!!! (You can’t see me right now but I’m wearing my gold medal around my neck, standing behind my computer desk with both hands in the air doing that back-arch thingie the gymnasts do when they finish their routines. Oww. Maybe there’s a reason why there aren’t more 60+ year-old gymnasts.)
So in Oscar style, I want to thank the kind judges; I want to thank YOU (my kind BFFs who faithfully gift my books to your besties – hey, don’t forget Christmas is coming up!), and most of all, I want to thank Papa God for His lovingkindness (I adore that word) in bequeathing (now there’s another great word we don’t use nearly enough) me a wonderful blessing to wear around my neck on those days when I need to remember every single one of my blessings.
*Stay tuned for another great giveaway coming soon. And for those of you in my BFF Club (if you’re not acquainted with this inner circle of girlfriends, you can read all about it at my website, DeboraCoty.com; we’d love to have you join us!), look for a newsletter coming your way within the week with a terrific exclusive thank-you gift for your ongoing support.
Hugs! Love,
Deb
