Hi there BFFs (Blessed Friends Forever),
I’ve been sidelined by a bad head cold for the past week or so and I’m still stalled out in Brainfogland, but I wanted you to know I’m still thinking about you and praying for you (betwixt coughs). I’d like to gift you with a little reading from one of my older devotionals. It’s called, Everyday Hope (my first ever devo, predating the Too Blessed to be Stressed series).
Out of print now, this pretty little green book brought me great joy (it was my mother’s favorite of all my devos) and gave me hope that I might one day fulfill my from-the-very-beginning goal of touching one person’s heart with the love of Jesus.
That audience of one is still my goal. Every book I write is saturated with prayer that it will find its way into the hands of that one sweet gal whom Jesus wants to bless with it. Could it be you, girlfriend?
Hugs to you, dearest BFF, as we prepare our hearts this week to give joyous thanks to the Giver of All Good Things!
Pure and Unspoiled
And everyone who has this hope fixed on Him purifies himself just as He [Jesus] is pure.
1 JOHN 3:3 NASB
Don’t you just love taking the first scoop of ice cream from a fresh half gallon? There’s something about the smooth surface of unspoiled purity that satisfies the soul. It’s the same with new jars of peanut butter, newly fallen snow, or stretches of pristine, early morning beach sand just waiting for our fresh footprints.
Papa God looks at us that way. His mercies are new every morning. We’re unblemished, pure and unspoiled through our faith and hope in Him. How will He make us a blessing today? I imagine Him gripping his scoop with anticipation. Allow that thought to bring a smile to your face, dearest BFF.
