Hi dearest BFFs (Blessed Friends Forever),
I hope that you are all safe and sound following last week’s unexpectedly damaging storm.
I want to thank all of you who prayed, called, emailed, and in any other way were concerned about me and my family during Hurricane Helene. We had a lot of tree debris down, but no other significant damage. Living a little east of Tampa, we were hit by the outer eastern bands of Helene and are high enough that massive flooding didn’t quite reach us. Thankfully, we never lost power in my neighborhood.
However, please keep praying for our family and neighbors in the western North Carolina mountains, who still are dealing with no power, lost refrigerated and frozen food, closed and dangerous roads, devastating mudslides, trees on roofs, and flood-damaged bridges. The little creek that runs down the side of our property overflowed the banks and gushed part of a road and a homeowner’s driveway away. On a wider scale, we have friends near Asheville who lost both house and car by trees falling and flooding, and even some businesses were entirely swept away.
I know we are all concerned about the massive number of families affected by this hurricane, and all the damage they’ll be dealing with for a long time. Please join me in committing to pray daily for these devasted people. And I encourage you to give what you can to help them recover. If anyone you know has a specific request we can all cover with prayer, please comment below. That’s what our community of BFFs is all about; praying is the least and the most we can do for each other.
Hugs,
Deb

I’m thankful that you and yours came through Helene alright. I was concerned about you guys. We also had a lot of debris and rain, while people 5 miles away lost everything! I’m feeling a little survivor’s syndrome, as I learn of the devastation Helene left behind.
We realize that it’s only by the Grace of God that we were spared.
We pray constantly for those who have been affected, and grieve right along with them.
Sending love,

HI, Deb
Do your friends near Ashville have means/insurance to rebuild? If not and you know a way we may specifically help them, please let us know. I’ve been praying for a specific way to help but I’m reluctant to send money to just any organization as I’ve seen behind the scenes mismanagement enough to be wary of that. Thank you and I will pray!

Glad to hear from you to know you and family are okay. Thanks for the reminder that we need to continue praying for those who suffered so much.
