I’m loving the time I get to spend in the weekly Bible/book study I’m currently leading with about twenty awesome ladies, using my first ever chapter book, Too Blessed to be Stressed: Inspiration for Climbing Out of Life’s Stress-Pool. (Yep, that’s the “mama” book from 2011 that birthed the other 40+ Too Blessed to be Stressed books in the series).
In our crazy group, we’re currently discussing my fave section about developing a sense of humor. Amidst great whooping belly laughs this week (who knew menopause could be so HILARIOUS?), I was reminded of the importance of exerting the energy to look for the funny in everyday life.
“Happiness makes you smile; sorrow can crush you” (Proverbs 15:13 CEV).
Man, we get enough crushing from life already. We could all use a little more smiling, right?
So today, for your smiling pleasure, I wanted to include two great little ditties I saw in a “Ripleys Believe It or Not” display back in 2022 and haven’t yet figured out a way to include in my new books. But they’re too good not to share with you.
*Apparently, in 1967 during the Beatles heyday, Paul McCartney allowed a young man claiming to be Jesus Christ into a strictly private Beatles recording session. When questioned about the rationale of this decision, Paul (the cute one!), replied, “Well, he probably isn’t. But if he is, I’m not going to be the one to turn him away.”
**In 1970, a disgruntled woman sued God for $100,000, claiming negligence on His part for allowing a lightning bolt to strike her home. (I wonder who the Almighty used as His lawyer.)
And in closing today’s post, I feel that I simply must include the first verse and chorus to a song I wrote to the tune of “America the Beautiful,” called “Menopause the Attitude-y-full” that I often share with my audiences when invited to speak. Ready to sing along? (You should’ve heard our small group gals belting it out with gusto!)
Menopause the Attitude-y-full
By D. Coty
O beautiful, those chocolate pies,
Lattes, frappes, and more.
For Metamucil, failing eyes,
And cellulite galore;
O menopause,
O menopause,
Take thy hormones and flee.
I’ll douse they mood
With scads of food
And mounds of mocha cream.
Have a great week, dear BFF (Blessed Friend Forever)! I’d love to hear from you in the comments below. Love, Deb

Debbie,
If you think about it, we could put man on the moon in 1969 but we still cannot help women with menopause symptoms! Great song! Put a smile on my face!

Laughter truly is the best medicine and thank you for sharing. I am truly “too blessed to be stressed”.

You crack me up. We need a lunch soon, with Pam too. But they may throw us out if we laugh too hard!!
